For one of our clients, a company known for its innovative and safe equipment, we are seeking a dedicated VAT Specialist to join their international VAT team, with responsibility for EMENA VAT compliance. Your mission will be to create, review, and approve international VAT returns for the European companies, act as the central point of contact for local colleagues with respect to European VAT compliance, and promote VAT awareness, including knowledge sharing within the Group.
Your responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete, accurate, and on-time reporting of VAT obligations, including monthly and yearly VAT returns, Intrastat, and EC sales listings for assigned companies
- Serve as the primary contact for internal colleagues regarding VAT reporting issues
- Monitor the quality of VAT data and reports to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Maintain precise VAT accounts through diligent reconciliations and VAT postings
- Contribute to various VAT projects and support VAT audits within the group
- Review VAT declarations prepared by other team members to uphold the dual control principle
- Provide coaching and share knowledge with new team members and departments relevant to VAT
Required Skills & Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years of experience in Indirect Tax compliance, Accounting, or Finance
- University or secondary education in Economics, Tax, Accounting, Finance, or Audit
- Professional qualification in VAT with a solid understanding of indirect tax regulations
- Strong knowledge of Finance & Accounting processes and accounting skills
- Proficiency in English
- Intermediate skills in Excel
- Experience in handling international VAT matters
- Familiarity with SAP is a plus
