Tax accountant

Job description

General information:

On behalf of our client which supports any companies owning a fleet of vehicles thanks to their special product, we are currently looking for a Tax accountant who will ensure compliance with tax regulations based on direct and indirect tax returns. The accountant will also assist in calculating income tax provision and ensure accurate reporting under IFRS and US GAAP, including GL tax accounts.

Main responsibilities:

VAT Compliance and Reporting:

  • Prepare and file VAT returns for European countries accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile VAT accounts monthly and maintain clear records of VAT positions.
  • Ensure compliance with country-specific VAT rules and guidelines.

Indirect Tax Guidance:

  • Provide expert guidance to the Financial Operations team on indirect tax matters.
  • Assist colleagues in understanding tax implications related to business transactions.

External Service Provider Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for external tax compliance service providers.
  • Monitor their performance, address queries, and ensure timely deliverables.

Financial Compliance Monitoring:

  • Regularly review financial transactions and records to identify any compliance gaps.
  • Collaborate with internal audit teams to address any issues promptly.

Transaction Mapping:

  • Map out transactional flows within the organization to identify potential tax risks.
  • Propose process improvements to enhance tax efficiency.

Corporate Income Tax Returns:

  • Work closely with the Tax Manager and external advisors to prepare accurate Corporate Income Tax returns.
  • Ensure alignment with IFRS and US GAAP requirements.


Your profile:

  • Min. relevant Bachelor's degree (Finance/accounting/economics)
  • Min. 3 years of tax experience from an international company (additional accounting is a plus)
  • Experience in Indirect taxes (+ direct taxes is big advantage)
  • Experience with IFRS/US GAAP
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Logical and analytical thinking
