The Senior Planning & Effectiveness Manager plays an important part in supporting our regional CMB & GBM Marketing team for EMEA, to ensure the region is well governed and run efficiently and effectively. Essentially a ‘mini COO’, this role provides a critical lead in making sure that across the 29 markets in Europe Middle East & Africa, our marketing teams are using a consistent operating and governance framework, a cohesive marketing plan is developed, the budgets are well managed, and that we are measuring effectively all of our marketing activities so that we can drive future improvements that support business growth for our commercial banking and investment banking divisions.

Key responsibilities include:
• Leading the annual marketing planning process in the region, to ensure marketing plans and budgets are coordinated in a consistent and timely manner.
• Governance of the marketing teams in terms of financial, operational and risk management; audit requirements, and maintaining functional relationships, e.g. Finance, Procurement, Regulatory Risk, Legal and Compliance etc.)
• Own the EMEA Marketing Dashboard. Provide visibility of targets and metrics on efficiency, ROMI (where appropriate), effectiveness, brand metrics, multiple use of assets etc.
• Lead and deliver reporting for senior leaders and stakeholders across both the business and function, providing visibility on targets and value driven by marketing programmes.
• Ensure that local teams measure against a consistent set of effectiveness metrics.
• Support the regional head of Marketing in developing and delivering the people strategy, particularly relating to structure, review & reward processes, training and succession planning.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
• Degree level qualification in marketing and/or business studies preferred.
• Minimum 5 years broad based marketing experience, ideally, but not necessarily within the Financial Services Sector.
• A focus on measurement and evaluation and data analysis (not necessary the analytics activity itself).
• A background in direct or digital marketing and/or the use of metrics and quantitative data to drive decision making may be relevant for this role.
• Understanding of the dynamics and profit drivers for multiple marketing channels and media.
• A natural curiosity to want to question the status quo and look for better ways to do things.
• Infectious energy to make things happen.
• Experience of working with teams over multiple sites.
• Ability to think innovatively, shaping and communicating new thinking and processes.
• Proven ability to inform, challenge and guide leadership teams and peers at all levels.
• Proven ability to work on multi-function projects demonstrating excellent relationship building and motivational skills.
• Proven ability to be a self-starter with energy and drive in a challenging and dynamic environment.
• Able to influence at an executive and senior level within Marketing and lead cross functional teams to drive for results.
• Commitment to putting the customer at the heart of all development and implementation activities.
