An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Professional to join and established payroll team.

The purpose of the role is to lead and manage the team to ensure the successful delivery of a first class payroll service.

You will also provide payroll support to Pension Administration and other departments and outside agencies and providing technical and responsible support to the business.



Manage and oversee the processing of the payroll in an accurate, compliant and timely manner, running monthly audit reports and reconciliations.
Plan, Manage and co-ordinate activities of payroll staff, managing performance & development, ensuring business continuity at all times.
Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements, issuing payroll schedules and deadlines to all relevant teams and departments.
Monitor the accurate payment of all pay & allowances and processing all starters, leavers, transfers and promotions, linking with other departments and external bodies to maintain payroll data.
Manage strong links with the pension administrator provider and raise any issues as required in line with the Service level agreement and highlight these as required.
Compile & analyse data from payroll software, including payroll information required to assist with Pension Administration and payment of all third party deductions.
Review and improve payroll policies and procedures, overseeing the maintenance of current employee data systems and ensuring all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and supporting all internal & external audits related to payroll.
Manage & resolve issues relating to payroll production and interpret new legislation and policy impacting payroll.





The ideal candidate:

Hold a qualification from the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals or equivalent or as a minimum a Diploma or certificate in a payroll related subject.
An In-depth knowledge and proven experience of payroll calculation and processing and be able to demonstrate experience of managing and supervising a payroll team.
A proven knowledge and experience of statutory payroll requirements and ability to identify future changes and requirements.
The ability to interpret and utilise analytical skills to solve enquiries and problem solve issues relating to payroll.
Be able to evidence strong written and verbal communication skills.
You will be proficient in the use of payroll software and Microsoft office, especially spreadsheets.
