A  family owned food production company in the heart of Kent are searching for a strong generalist HR Manager, (reporting to the MD) to oversee their head office.  They are leaders in their field and the ideal candidate will have a willingness to use their skills across a broad spectrum to support the management team and staff.  

As a national food producer they place great importance on their CSR, Food Safety and Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Responsibility.  You will need to have experience of these areas as well as good ER, Employment Law,  Payroll and ,ideally, IT experience.

The role encompasses a variety of HR disciplines which include:

General HR:

Advising management on HR issues,providing reports when necessary.
Raising HR policy and procedural issues
Keeping up to date and researching changes to employment law
Devising and implementing policy and procedure to reflect changing circumstances
First point of contact HR queries and advice to employees and management
Overseeing flow of documentation between management, admin functions and employees
Producing annual newsletter
Managing recruitment process life-cycle
Administering health-care and pension schemes
Supporting Payroll

Health and Safety:

Advising Management on H&S matters
Maintaining H&S management system to ISO 18001 standard
Keeping up to date and researching changes to H&S law and guidelines
Site inspections and  audits
Preparation and involvement in BSI, HSE and NFU audits and inspections
Monitoring and policing H&S on all company sites
Accident investigations
Maintaining H&S statistics
Liaising with third parties e.g. solicitors, insurance companies etc.
Arranging and documenting testing and inspection e.g. PAT, Fixed wiring, fire extinguishers etc.

With a 'can do' and a 'hands on' attitude you will be adept at working with in a small busy framework, expect a challenging but rewarding experience.

A highly organised multi tasker with good interpersonal skills you will be able to prioritise to deadlines and targets within a demanding organisation.  It is essential that you have solid demonstrable experience of SAGE as well as Harmony T & A.   A CIPD qualification or similar is desirable. 

You will be a driver,  Head Office is not on the public transport network and there will be some local site visits required.
