My client is looking for a Financial accountant to join there small friendly team for a 6 month contract.

Key Tasks:
• To supervise, understand and manage all processes performed within sales and purchase ledgers and bank reconciliations, including credit control, cashiering and treasury management
• To reconcile any investment statements on a quarterly basis
• To assist in the preparation of month end accounts on an accurate and timely basis ensuring that all known liabilities and accruals are identified and reported
• To assist in the preparation of year end reconciliations and the Statutory Accounts 
• To assist on VAT matters and to prepare the quarterly VAT returns
• To maintain and where appropriate, develop the financial accounting software and ensure adherence to accounting and internal control procedures
• To assist in ensuring that the business meets its statutory obligations as they fall due
• To produce such ad hoc reports and to perform such other tasks as may be required
• Adhere to the policies and procedures

Other duties
• To comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity, confidentiality and data protection, reporting concerns to an appropriate person.
• To maintain and develop own professional knowledge and awareness.
• To undertake any other such duties or general tasks and hours of work as may reasonably be required and any other responsibilities, which may from time to time, be delegated by your manager.

Skills Required:
• part qualified/qualified by experience
• Highly computer literate with extensive knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and  accounting software.
• Experience in working with Sage 200
• Experience in operating an efficient and effective Management Information Service
• Experience in the preparation of VAT returns and a good knowledge of VAT
• Experience in the production of statutory accounts and year end processes
