within new projects the company is looking for an experienced candidate for the position:
Strategic Commodity Buyer - Steel and Iron
Responsibilities:
- Strategically manages purchasing volume of € 40+ million within entrusted commodity
- Contributes to creation and implementation of the defined supplier strategies
- Analyses supplier market, defines the supplier base and ensures the requirements are met as innovation, capacity, costs, quality and delivery reliability regards
- Creates and secures implementation of the top material cost optimization projects, incl. best cost country relocation projects in the planned budget and time frame
- Escalation point when supply crisis or poor quality deliveries occur who supports the global supply chain capacity program
- Ensuring new contracts within the new product development programs, executes SAP approvals
Requirements:
- University degree in engineering or industrial engineering or economy / business administration
- At least 5 years of experience in commodity procurement for large multinational companies in an environment of demanding industries (OEMs)
- Very good knowledge of supplier market, related technology, cost break down and key cost indicators, advanced negotiation and analytical skills
- Committed and initiative leader, excellent communicator and presenter at key stakeholders / top executive level, solution-oriented
- Expert use of MS Office tools, advanced user of SAP/R3 is a plus
- Very good English (German would be a benefit) used on daily basis (80%) is mandatory, as well as willingness to travel on short notice
